well, my pages are back up
I feel better, now, dont you?
there are some differences between interlink and earthlink, however
after uploading my pages & directory structure, I discovered
that interlink doesnt allow subdirectories
so, I had to go through all my pages and change the links &
directory structure so all pages are in the main directory
painful, but its done
also, there might be some linkrot. if you find any broken links,
let me know immediatly and where exactly the breaks are
I want to make sure everything works here
anyway, I finally saw an optometrist on wednesday. got a new prescription
for my contacts, and I got some medicine for my eyes. the medicine is cool,
eyedrops that contain (are you ready?)
STEROIDS!
now I can beat people up with my eyes
so since I had that nasty case of pinkeye in december (that lasted
the entire month), my contacts didnt allow my eyes to heal fully. hearing
the eye doctors reactions when he was examining my eyes was amusing....lots
of grunts of disapproval (and maybe shock & horror)
he was a nice guy, though. kinda reminded me of a big friendly
bear...not that ive met any big friendly bears. he was round but not fat,
thick beard, and a good sense of humour.
described every step of the examination to me as he did it. kinda
informative. plus there was this cool photo of the cross-section of an
eyeball. nifty

November 23rd, 1963 - first episode of Doctor Who premiered on
BBC television
June 27th, 1997 - I see the last part of the first serial of Doctor
Who
let me explain; Doctor Who was originally a serial storyline; each
main story was told in 25 minute episodes shown weekly, each one (except
the final) building up to a cliffhanger to make sure there was an audience
next week. The pbs station out here shows the series in that original format;
it takes, on average, a month to see a full story. and I got here just
as they were starting the series from the beginning.
was it good? well it kept my interest for a month. and I did enjoy
it. The Doctor started out as a very mean old coot, sadistic almost. but
in the final part of this first adventure (An Unearthly Child, or, 1,000,000
BC) he mellowed out a little bit. and I can see why so many people remember
the first Doctor, played by the late William Hartnell (not tom baker, dumass)
with such high regard. Another thing that i noticed; the console looks
damn cool. if i had a picture of it id put it up. lots of flashing
lights, dials, levers, gauges...on the whole, a shit load more complicated
looking than any other console design until '83 when it was packed with
computer-like keyboards. heres a picture of that one.
I cant wait until next week, when The Daleks starts. although because
a full shot of a Dalek isnt until the second episode, itll be two weeks
before I see one, but, oh well.
