techno remix
the continuing evolution of my site continues...
like a strain of deadly viri, it keeps mutatin'
one word to describe today:
boring
got new tires for judy
finally back on the road in a small car i can smoke in
no more suburban
no more mommobile
i hope
hung with tom & stew at dennys
stew left early, he was tired
was reading a mag tom bought
had a huge star wars article
star wars special edition opens january 31st
got me thinkin'
i saw star wars in the theatre in '77
i was two years old, but still
i saw it in the theatre
in fact, i saw all three when they were first run in the theatre
makes me feel rather old
but
in 1983, i saw jedi in the theatre
i remember vividly the part where vader throws the emperor down the power shaft
the audience was cheering
now this was the first and last time i ever experienced first hand a films power to move an audience
subconsciously, this little experience burned into my brain the power of the medium
vader, an icon of evil for six years, immediatly redeems himself in the audiences minds with one action
it taught me that film is a powerful thing, and that i should be involved with it
i never realized how much that experience influenced me until i discovered my talent for filmmaking
so, subconsciously for nine years, my mind pushed me into videography
eerie
my whole affinity for the visual medium
caused by an audience cheering
eerie, again
ive decided (sort of)
that when i go back to school in september
im takin' some radio classes
i want to try being a radio personality
ive already been a television personality (gary a. maynard of PSyCHoMeTRiC PSouNDS)
i have a somewhat deep voice
and i say really bizarre things
id have a very...original show on the radio
but thats in the future
and im stuck in the present
with one foot in the past
it just amazes me
how old i am
ive been using a modem since '89
i think
i was on a commodore 64 nationwide network called QLink
runnin' off a c64 with a 300 baud modem
i remember when aol was PCLink and America Online (for macs) before their merger
then i got into local bbs'
then i got into teleconference stuff on local Galacticomm Major BBS'
met upwards of about 100 people through those
havent seen many of them in years
then there was a lull
then we (finally) got a REAL 'puter
486 DX2/66
signed up on AOL with my credit card
didnt use it much
transferred it over to my mother
then we got another 'puter
gateway 2000 p5-90
then i signed up on earthlink
and started this page, and my whole "web" career
and here i am
so the moral of the story?
ive been around for a while
and its been an okai life so far
and im going to live forever
cause im a time lord
but i lost my tardis...
